Prohibition of Banking Discrimination

S1027 (a)   Transparency in financial services

 

 

This provides protections against discrimination based on Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) scores. This bill fights the advance of Social Credit Scores by prohibiting banks from discriminating against customers for their political or religious beliefs. 

 

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

This legislation prohibits large financial institutions from declining to serve customers based on their political or religious views.

 

 

Our State Treasurer, Julie Ellsworth, has weighed in on this along with other State Treasurers by sending a letter to Majority Leader Thune, Minority Leader Schumer, and others.
