Update School Choice Bills H93 & S1025

Feb. 27th Governor Little signed this bill H 93 into law! 

 

Feb. 5, 2025. The House Revenue and Tax Committee voted 8-7 to send House Bill 93, the parental choice tax credit, to the House floor with a recommendation that it pass. This came after nearly two hours of testimony and debate.

Feb. 7, 2025. The House voted in favor of H93 42-28.

Feb. 12, 2025. The Senate Revenue & Tax Committee voted 6-3 to send House Bill H 93 to the Senate floor. 

Feb. 19, 2025 H93, the School Choice bill passed the Senate yesterday, 20-15...now it is on to the Governor's desk.

Bill S 1025 Expanding Empowering Parents Grant Program.

The law builds on the existing Empowering Parents program, which will now expand to provide grants for tuition, along with other eligible education expenses, for students in pre-kindergarten through high school. These grants are prioritized for families earning less than $80,000 per year and add $20 million to the existing education budget.
