Protection of Women-Only Spaces

HB 264 Privacy of Women's Facilities.

This bill has passed the House 61-9, and is on its way to the Senate.

"This legislation will continue Idaho’s efforts to protect the rights of girls and women and their private spaces where they are most vulnerable. This will preserve order and dignity in restrooms, changing rooms and sleeping quarters for girls and women in facilities where they have been traditionally afforded privacy and safety, including from acts of abuse, harassment, sexual assault, and violence committed by men"

This bill applies to women's prisons, juvenile correctional centers, domestic violence centers, and state educational institutions. Imagine sending your daughter to her first semester of college. You and are in the process of helping her get settled into her dorm. You meet her assigned roommate and discover "she" is actually "he". This bill would prevent that from happening at public colleges and universities in Idaho.
